QU'EST QU'UN COVER ?

WHAT IS A COVER?

Taken out of its golf context, anyone would have trouble visualizing the nature of the object that interests us. For a privileged few, it is obvious. For others whose neurons are not honeycombed, who says "cover" says music. So no, the "cover" that interests us has nothing to do, near or far, with the cover of a Pop classic! The "cover" object is the object of all our attention and intentions at IZZACAÏ® . You may naively call it a sock or a hood or even a case, but for once in golf, it has kept its baptismal name: "cover". No offense to lovers of the language of Victor Hugo!

PART I

THE COVER PROTECTS

All lost and found baskets are provided with them. This shows how much golfers ignore the great interest of these more or less imposing objects that adorn their golf bags. Forgetting your cover on the edge of the green or on the tee and putting away your driver, fairway wood, hybrid or putter is a bit like leaving your glasses box on a desk in the local coworking space and stuffing your glasses at the bottom of your bag. The first day your glasses will survive but in the long run this abandonment will cause material and financial damage. Covers have a real reason to exist. Their life mission is to protect your clubs. Of course they protect the club heads, especially for putter and iron covers but more importantly they protect the shafts of your longest clubs. What happens to these shafts while you travel with your bag on your shoulder or on the cart? They get hit repeatedly by the heads of other clubs, clubs that are shorter than them. As with the pair of glasses at the bottom of the bag, the damage is not done in one day but in the long run, by being hit so much, the carbon fiber shafts become weakened. We quickly see the paint disappearing about ten centimeters before the club head. It is the beginning of the end for this essential element of your long clubs that are their shafts. Purists who love the language of Charlotte Brontë call them " shafts " but that does not make them more robust. And those who have already had a shaft replaced on a driver know how expensive it is. The Cover protects the heads yes, but the cover also protects the shafts. It would be a shame to impale your favorite playing partner because of a shaft weakened by the absence of a cover on your bag. Especially before having beaten him and relieved him of a few pennies!

PART II

THE COVER DRESS

If you love golf then you love its label and everything it conveys. If you like to respect it and you like to respect yourself then you like to be properly dressed and shod. With a well-ironed collar and shiny studs, you enjoy playing this sport like a Lady or a Gentleman. Your covers must therefore complement your outfit and match your bag. If you are one of those who need a plush toy on their driver to feel like they belong to the same world as Tiger Woods or Rory McIlroy , we are not throwing stones at you but at least try to match the covers of your fairway woods and your putter to the colors of his soft coat. If you are one of those whose bag looks like Thoiry , it is time to grow up and IZZACAÏ® will help you enter the adult world on your own or at least make a smooth and elegant transition. If you have decided to put on oven mitts or any other item from your household cleaning cupboard, then you need to do something quickly. Who goes out to play golf in slippers? What right-handed person puts a dishwashing glove on their left hand before teeing off? Nobody! So don't force your clubs to come out in slippers - with all due respect to slippers - while you put on your little shoes. If your covers date from the 20th century, know that we have been in the 21st for over twenty years, that you can go on the internet from your phone, call and see anyone anywhere in the world and that Olympic athletes swam in the Seine this summer, so it is probably time to renew your collection of moth-eaten covers that have taken up residence in your garage. Respect yourself. Respect etiquette. Respect your clubs. Choose your covers as you would choose your pair of shoes to go dancing with your loved one.

PART III

THE IZZACAÏ ® COVER

At IZZACAÏ® we love golf as much as we love design. We wanted our covers and all the accessories that come out of our workshop to always combine elegance and utility, design and technicality. We have developed three families of covers. The Elegant. The Useful. And the Original. Two of these families are already on sale on our site. What differentiates these three families is their design. The curve of the Elegant follows the curve that connects the handle to the head of the long clubs in the golf bag, the driver, the fairway woods and the hybrids. The design of the useful is more minimalist and that of the Original brings us back to the cut of a beautiful suit tailored by the hand of a master. Whatever family you want your clubs to belong to, they will always be protected by a thickness of foam and a thickness of lining that will also facilitate recurring handling on a course. We have researched, calculated, tried, and tested each of these 3 families of covers so that their beauty never hinders their handling and efficiency. This was our mission and we have embraced it. Soon, putter, blade and mallet covers, iron covers, and accessories will be born that will further enhance your look and that of your bag. I have always loved going to play with clean shoes that match my outfits, because in golf there are so few things that we can really control that every detail mastered can increase our self-confidence. Today, I am proud to reserve the same favor for my favorite toys, my golf clubs.

Good games to all!
